Beautiful Sunset
This shot was taken at Lorn during this week. The strange thing about it is the sun is setting in the west behind the camera. The shot was taken facing east about 7.30pm. There were large storms towards Cessnock. What causes this type of sunset.

Hi Steve,
It was a beautiful but strange sight that is for sure, I took some photos of it on 12-2-2012 and some other people in this region did as well.
I am surprised that NBN have not to my knowledge ran a story on it I thought it was a rare thing as I and many others had not seen it before.

They are apparently called anti-crepuscular rays and you can see more spectacular photos on google images.
The Sun is in direct alignment with the moon.
