International Space Station Transiting the Moon 3rd July 2012 from Armidale NSW

NBN Weathershots Image

Here is an image of the silhouette of the Space Station transiting the Moon last night, 3rd July, from a location just South of Armidale.
A video camera was set up on my 10 inch newtonian reflector at prime focus which, along with some forward planning, resulted in a successful Transit across the Moon.
Don't be fooled though, the ISS was around 466kms away at the time while the moon was around 384,000 Kms away (on average)!

The ISS provides a platform

5

The ISS provides a platform to conduct scientific research that cannot be performed in any other way. While small unmanned spacecraft can provide platforms for zero gravity and exposure to space, space stations offer a long term environment where studies can be performed potentially for decades, combined with ready access by human researchers over periods that exceed the capabilities of manned spacecraft. Thank you.

There are times when you must

There are times when you must find the location of studs behind stucco walls. Whether you are hanging a heavy mirror or a fragile work of art--you must have the added support of installing your mounting hardware into wood and not just wallboard. Thanks.

The IES describes the problem

The IES describes the problem behavior's antecedents and consequences and recommends that teachers "carefully observe the conditions in which the problem behavior is likely to occur and not occur. For example, you may discover that a child becomes verbally abusive to other children during one particular lesson, such as math. Thanks a lot.
